The Making of Barb and Baden’s Excellent Paris Adventure
I guess it goes without saying that the secret’s out now. As more and more people were made aware of the details of our next Excellent Adventure, there’s no point in being coy about it anymore. By this time next week, Barb and I will be on our way to France again for our Excellent Paris Adventure.
In truth, this trip to Paris is just being considered a small getaway for us by until our typical bigger vacation in the fall but nonetheless any opportunity to go to Paris is always going to be a highlight for us.
I know what you’re thinking. Small getaway and Paris aren’t typically used in the same sentence.
This will be our third time to Paris together and one of the most distinguishing things that makes this trip unique is that we have done virtually no planning for it at all. Other than the flights and hotel that we have booked, we have absolutely nothing planned. On our two previous visits to France (in 2002 and 2004), Paris was part of a larger itinerary which included visits to other regions of France and a fairly detailed list of things that we wanted to do in Paris alone. The planning efforts for this trip, in contrast, have been comprised of printing out about 6-7 pages of notes from previous Paris visits.
The sole discussion that Barb and I have had over the past few weeks on this subject (once all of the travel bookings were completed), was which restaurants that we wanted to go to in Paris. There are several places that we have eaten at in Paris on both visits that we both fondly remember and look forward to going to many of them again. All in all, this is going to be a much more relaxed type of Adventure and we will decide on what we will be doing on a day by day basis.
Stay tuned for my next posting on our Excellent Paris Adventure which will be from Paris.
