Eastern Canada Storm Blows Over

Only about 3 weeks have passed since our return from eastern Canada and like most people have been hearing about the big storm that has passed through that part of the country which is the tail end of tropical storm Noel.
While we were able to enjoy pretty good weather on our trip (by and large), we had spoken to several people and seen several things here and there that were remnants of hurricane Juan that struck eastern Canada in 2003. While the damage cause by Noel was significantly less than Juan, we were no less thinking last night about how everyone that we had met on our recent trip would be doing last night as the storm blew in.

Barb and I were talking about the place that we had stayed at in Prince Edward Island called the Bird’s Eye View B&B. During the three days that we stayed there, the couple that owned the house told us about how the roof of their house was literally blown off during hurricane Juan. We had heard similar stories about how people had lost power and had to survive for several days or more before things were restored back to normal. Of course, if your roof has been blown off your house then it’s probably going to be more than a few days before things are back to normal.

To everyone in the eastern Canada who was affected by Noel, our thoughts are with you.
