Another Year of Articles – My Blog’s 2nd Birthday

It’s hard to believe that I’ve now passed the 2 year mark since I started my blog. Officially on February 1st, it now seems that I have been writing articles for my blog for so long that I can’t remember anymore what it was like before. According the the stats on my site, I seem to be averaging about 70 new articles a year. This averages out to about 1-2 new articles a week but as most of my regular readers know there are some weeks where I may not write anything and some weeks (especially when on vacation) where I will write several in one week.

When I happen to be at home, there isn’t more than a few days that go by that I am not thinking about my next article and sometimes there are 3-4 articles in progress at any one time. I have this belief (probably wishful thinking) that all of my regular readers log into their computers each day, anxious to see if there is a new article on my blog – only to have their day ruined not to see anything new posted. Nonetheless, this is what motivates me to get that next article written and put on the blog site. That and also the fact that I kind of like doing all of this.

One of the critical components of any of my articles are the pictures. There have been more than one article that has never made it to the web site because the accompanying picture turned out to be a disaster and not having the right picture to me is a deal killer. I have spent a lot of hours getting proficient with my photo editing software software and have found that I can recover most any bad picture into a usable one to go with an article but unfortunately some are just impossible to fix.

Since my return back from Germany last October, most of you know that the majority of my postings have been food and cooking-related with very few articles on the subject of travel. This, of course, is fairly normal for this time of year but the subject of travel will very soon become front and centre again as Barb and I are in the middle of planning a little get-away in the next couple of months.

Stay tuned.

Although we try to restrain ourselves from going into your website every day, we certainly do check out every notification we get, thinking “where have they been now?” or “what neat little restaurant have they discovered this time”. We do enjoy them all and look forward to your next travel adventure. When we come to Vancouver we’ll just go into the site to see which restaurant or kitchen store we should explore. Keep having fun doing it and we’ll stay tuned. Thanks for the smiles!
