My Excellent Utah Adventure – Part 1
It’s been four months since my last post. Our 2013 travel plans have been slow, with only a single trip to Hawaii in May. There were valid reasons for our hiatus, but I’m confident we’ll make up for lost time in the second half of the year.
You might wonder why I’m planning a trip to Utah. It’s not our usual destination, and this trip will be solo. Barb won’t be joining me. It’s been seven years since I last traveled alone (for non-business reasons). I’ll be spending 10 days in Utah, primarily for photography. My itinerary includes four national parks and more. Details will be shared soon.
The movie poster above for 127 Hours is an inside joke. Many people I’ve told about my solo trip to Utah have mentioned this movie. It’s about a single man traveling in a national park in Utah, and guess what? That’s the same park I’ll be visiting!
Since I’ll be alone and often off the beaten path, I think this trip will be an opportunity to escape technology and my daily routine. With my iPhone, MacBook Pro, Nikon camera, and extra lenses, I’ll document how I manage to disconnect and enjoy nature
Stay tuned.

Awesome pics Baden. We are about a month behind you. Hopefully the weather will hold and we will finally get to Bryce Canyon. We've been to Zion and the Grand one!

Just came back from my first day at Bryce Canyon. It's about 25 degrees cooler (farenheit) here than near Zion so my hike this morning was much more pleasant. But it's been sunny since arriving in Utah on Friday so overall couldn't ask for better weather.
