Our Excellent Return to the Sea – Part 3

Sick

It’s not unheard of for any of us to get sick while traveling. It doesn’t happen on every trip and when it has occurred in the past it’s more or less just been an inconvenience and recovery is often very quick. This isn’t one of those trips.

As of this writing on Sunday morning, I’ve been sick for about 5 days. While I’m feeling much better now there were a few days earlier in the week when I didn’t know if I would be able to continue. For the first time ever, we arranged to have a doctor see me in the Santorini hotel and I was given medication that allowed me to continue.

This cat just sauntered into our Santorini hotel and eventually curled up the bed for the night.

The Visitor

The night before we left our hotel in Santorini, this cat came in and was pretty vocal about wanting us to feed her. We eventually gave her something and soon afterward, jumped up on the bed and made herself comfortable, proceeded to fall asleep. Over the years, this is the third time a neighborhood cat has come inside, looking for handouts.

The Sea

After almost a year of travel planning, we boarded our cruise ship yesterday, spending the first night on board last night. The ship that we’re on is from the Windstar line. Our ship is very small by modern standards cruise, having only 140 passengers, and we deliberately chose this type of small cruise ship also for the unique destinations we’ll be going to over the 14 days.

It’s almost 8 AM on Sunday and I just felt the ship stop as it looks like we arrived at our first destination of Monemvasia, Greece. Exploring this small Greek town today have to wait until we’ve had a chance to get some breakfast. The ship will stay at Monemvasia until 5 PM so we have a lot of time to explore.

The ship’s WiFi is not very good so I may not be able to post my photos until I figure it out.

Update: I’ve been able to upload more photos to my photo website.
